Author: BananaQaiquiri http://www.whofic.com/viewuser.php?uid=13694

Rating: All Ages

Word Count: 11,467 words

Author's Summary:
The Eleventh Doctor is relaxing inside the TARDIS when a certain skinny man with sticky-uppy hair materializes inside it, wearing a tuxedo and a cheeky grin. He takes the Doctor to an unexpected place, where they run into several familiar faces.

Characters: Amy Pond, Donna Noble, Jackie Tyler, Rory Williams, Rose Tyler, Sarah Jane Smith, Sylvia Noble, Wilfred Mott, the Eleventh Doctor, the Duplicate Tenth Doctor

Recced Because: Now wouldn't we all love to see this one on the telly? For one thing, it's wonderfully in character and absolutely hilarious.

Story: Moments of Life Unremembered
Author: Rivendellrose
Rating: All ages
Word Count: 2685
Author's Summary: What does a moment mean, if you don't remember it? (Series of connected vignettes)
Characters/Pairings: Donna Noble, Jack Harkness, Martha Jones, Handy, Gwen Cooper, Tom Milligan, Sylvia Noble, Wilfred Mott
Warnings: None.

Recced because: If our memories determine who we are (and Time Lords most of all...), what DO the bits we don't remember mean? This story is a beautiful exploration of the people the Doctor left behind, not quite as intact as they used to be, and most importantly - their "regular life" afterwards.

The [livejournal.com profile] dw_femslash ficathon just happened over at that comm, so I figured I'd rec something awesome from ficathons past.

Story: Escapology
Author: birdsarecalling
Rating: teen
Word Count: 4,794
Author's Summary: Donna Noble's stuck inside her own head. What she needs is a little escapology. (Donna/Jo Grant)
Characters/Pairings: Donna Noble/Jo Grant, Sylvia Grant, Wilfred Mott, Mike Yates, Shaun Temple
Warnings: none

Recced because: This fic is adorable. I feel like 'Donna meets old companion' may be a trope (and one that I've written recently, hm), but this is the defining one of those fics for me. Partly this fic is about Donna coming back from having her memory taken by the Doctor, partly it's about what Jo does as she gets older, and there's a tiny bit in there that's somehow about Mike Yates and is so good. This whole fic is so good - a really nice melding of new and old school Who.

Story: Handyman
Author: pluto
Rating: All Ages
Word Count: 4,952
Author's Summary: Donna's begun having terrible headaches, and Shaun struggles to help her.
Characters/Pairings: Donna/Shaun, Wilf, Sylvia
Warnings: None

Recced because: This is one of the sweetest, most poignant Donna fix-it fics I've read, not in the least because it finally gives us a good idea of who Shaun might be, and why Donna would have fallen for him. Shaun is utterly devoted to Donna, and when she starts freezing up and repeating words like "neurohyperbolicencephalostabilizer," he finds a way to help her that no doctor (or Doctor) could. Ultimately, it isn't just Shaun's cobbled-together machine that restores Donna's memories: it's his fierce love for her, and his unwillingness to give up despite his fears and uncertainty.

Story: Nowhere Man
Author: the_seventh_l
Rating: All Ages
Word Count: 1863
Author's summary: He's a nowhere man with nowhere plans; meet the Seventh Doctor. Even when (supposedly) retired, there's still work to do.
Characters/Pairings: Seventh Doctor/Ace (though it's not really a shipfic), Jamie, Susan, Sylvia Noble, Donna Noble
Warnings: One suspects the plot is purposely confusing

Recced because: This is an odd little story about an odd little man, with plot that doesn't immediately make sense when you first read it or indeed when you reread it, but I'm fond of it anyway because it does a very good job of encapsulating the basic essence of the Seventh Doctor: who the man is, if not necessarily why he does what he does.
