Author's summary: Searching for the victim of a miscarriage of justice, the Doctor and Rose visit a military mental hospital in 1918.

Recced because: Fabulously written, this really showcases Nine and S1 Rose perfectly, and in the setting, helps illuminate some of the Doctor's experience with the Time War. 1918 is not a good time on Earth, and both characters' reactions and interactions in the mental hospital are very well portrayed. This is an old favourite that still holds up strong, with a lot of truth, and a lot of optimism, and a punch to the gut for an ending that still hurts, re-reading it a few years later.
