You might be able to parse it without the EDAs. I was definitely reading Fitz stuff and enjoying it before getting my paws on his actual appearances. The faction paradox stuff would be confusing... but honestly, that plotline barely makes sense in the source material, and has been completely redacted by canon anyway.
