Story: A Game, A Puzzle
Author: radiantbaby
Rating: All Ages
Word Count: 2,168
Author's Summary: She remembers the feel of his jacket most of all.
Characters/Pairings: Eleven/Martha
Warnings: None

Recced because: Thirteen-year-old Martha, in therapy to deal with issues about her family, finds that a substitute therapist does a much better job understanding what makes her tick than her usual doctor. Sure, he looks silly in that bowtie, but he knows exactly what to say to her: that she's going to be a doctor someday, and brilliant, and someone who saves the world. Whether it's the Doctor who ultimately pushes Martha in the right direction to evolve into a strong and confident woman, or whether she would have become that woman regardless, is left open; but what's not in question is the affection the Doctor and Martha feel for each other years later, when Martha realizes just who'd helped her long ago, or the affection the author obviously has for a character who doesn't always get the respect she very much deserves.

Story: Five Times the Doctor Wanted To Kiss Martha Jones In 1969 [And One Time He Did]
Author: radiantbaby
Rating: PG-13
Word Count: 6255
Author's Summary: A 1969 fic that pretty much does as it says on the tin.
Characters/Pairings: Tenth Doctor, Martha Jones
Warnings: None

Recced because: Despite being a shippy fic, this fic makes a wonderful character study of the Tenth Doctor. radiantbaby manages to turn fluff into something that isnt just about the ship can be enjoyed by people that don't ship the two. The story fits really well into canon and is beautifully written, the description in particular is amazing. And I'm a sucker for Five times and 1969 fic.

Story: Masquerade
Author: radiantbaby
Rating: All Ages
Word Count: 5978
Author's Summary: After the events in 1913 at Farringham, the Doctor takes Martha to a ball, where she meets a mysterious stranger.
Characters/Pairings: Martha Jones, The Doctor (10th)

Recced because: This is a fairly straight forward story, and you'll probably get the "twist" quite early on, but that's not the point. The point is that *Martha* doesn't catch on and it's interesting to see her reactions to "Ganymede".

The Doctor rushed over to the table of masks, excitedly hopping from one foot to the other. "Ooh, so many choices, so many lovely choices," Martha heard him say to himself as she walked up to stand beside him.

"Ah, perfect!" he suddenly exclaimed, picking up another one of the masks that looked like a bird, this one completely black like a raven. The Doctor held it in front of his face and squawked comically, "Never more, never more!"

Martha laughed.

"Hey, with this ensemble," he gestured to his clothes, "it's a raven or a penguin mask, so I think I will go for a raven, thank you very much."
