rec: Crystal Palace One, The United Legions of the Planet Zartog Nil

Story: Crystal Palace One, The United Legions of the Planet Zartog Nil
Author: [livejournal.com profile] livii
Rating: All Ages
Word Count: 1353
Author's Summary: The plan was of course a bit more complicated than that, but what it boiled down to for Mickey was standing outside the Palace dressing room at the beginning of the second half, dressed in Clinton Morrison's strip, after having clubbed Morrison over the head (apologetically) and stolen his clothes.
Characters/Pairings: Tenth Doctor, Mickey, Rose
Warnings: None

Recced because: Aside from having the best title ever, this fic is a hilarious romp in which aliens attempt to take over the world one football team at a time, and Mickey gets to save the world in the most perfect way possible. Team TARDIS is in fantastic form in this one, [livejournal.com profile] livii has a great narrative humor and snappy dialogue, and I was laughing like an idiot throughout. What more can one ask for? I won't post a snippet other than the one [livejournal.com profile] livii chose above, because I'd basically end up quoting the whole thing here. Short, sweet, fun, read!

Yes! I love this one, and it'll tide me over till the day Big Finish get a license for the new series and do a couple of seasons set between Girl in the Fireplace and Age of Steel...

The entire concept of that fills me with more squee than I thought was imaginable. ♥

::beams:: Thanks so much for the rec! That was one of the hardest stories I ever had to write to that date (it was for a Mickey ficathon, and the prompts were v. British) and I'm absurdly pleased that you remember it and like it that much.

I have to again pass along thanks to [livejournal.com profile] redscharlach though, on top of everything, for she was the one who made it British enough, like giving me the word "strip" for that summary, and also, she gave it the brilliant title. :D

Argh, couldn't reply until now - "strip" is his uniform, or at least I hope! I'm ever-so amused you thought I was British - basically I wrote the whole thing, sent it to Red, and she sent it back with all sorts of lovely British words and phrases, especially for the bits in the pub and to do with the footie. Side-by-side they appear to be quite different fics, but they're not, it was just...translated. ;)
