Recced because: It’s a thoroughly entertaining fic of the type that somehow sums up the nature of the entire show, really – there’s an alien boar and a whole thing with broccoli and a bucket of soapy water, and the Doctor needs help from an ordinary person – with joy and humour and heart. It’s a story that fits the Eighth Doctor perfectly, the original characters are well drawn and there are some lovely fleeting cameos to keep an eye out for, too. What more can you ask for?
