Recced because: It's a Doctor Who/Phantom of the Opera crossover, what more do you need?? There's few things better than a good mash-up of two of your favorite fictional characters, and as a huge Phantom fan I enjoyed this one immensely! Even if you're only passingly familiar with Phantom of the Opera, there's fun to be had here in the clash of personalities between the goofy, happy-go-lucky Eleventh Doctor, no-nonsense Amy, and the angsty, melodramatic Phantom. (The Doctor and Amy have some good banter between them, especially.) It starts out spooky, then gets silly, and I laughed quite a bit through this, but it actually is kind of sweet to imagine the Doctor and Amy dropping in on poor old Erik and possibly helping him get over that nasty business with a certain soprano!

"Tell me why I shouldn't kill you here and now," Erik demanded, shaking the Doctor, his voice a dangerous whisper.

The Time Lord grinned, despite his uncomfortable position. "Because I'm such a nice guy? How did it go with Christine, by the way?"

His captor growled. "How did it go?" He repeated, "How did it go? She left me, that's how it went! Left me for that boy!" He shook the Doctor again. "It's all your fault!"

"Well, now, that's not entirely true, is it? I mean, you asked me for advice, and I gave it, even though I did warn you that I'm not exactly the world's greatest authority on affairs of the heart," babbled the Doctor. "It's sort of down to me that Romeo and Juliet ended up the way they did. I tried to tell Romeo that she was just pretending to be dead, but did he listen?"
