Rec: Movie Night by Pendragon (One, Steven, Vicki)
To lighten the mood for the last rec of my stint, another First era story but one that is fun and a bit tongue-in-cheek and a bit bittersweet in its examination of old TV/film in general.
Title: Movie Night
Author: Pendragon
Rating: All Ages
Word Count: 2177
Author's Summary: Lights out! Film rolling! It's classic movie night in the TARDIS.
Characters/Pairings: First Doctor, Steven Taylor, Vicki
Warnings: None
Recc'ed Because: It's just a fun and very cute scene. It would seem to work as with Eleven and the Ponds as it does with Steven, Vicki and One. There is some self-referential irony and a bittersweet nod in there as well, considering how many of the First Doctor episodes were lost.
----------
As the music blared around them and the credits started rolling, Vicki and the Doctor burst into uncontrollable laughter.
“The credits are wobbly!” Vicki let out in amusement. “And that black and white! Oh my goodness these people were deprived. They must have been really depressed.”
“They didn’t actually live in black and white,” Steven said from the doorway, half tinkering with the machine outside the door, and half watching the film.
