Author's Summary: An author and a soldier flirt in the middle of the London Blitz. AU now because it was written before "Torchwood" season 1 gave us some backstory on Captain Jack and before Big Finish produced the last audio with Charley.
Characters/Pairings: Charley Pollard, Jack Harkness
Warnings: None
Recced because: It's really interesting to look at what Charley might have done during the War, after she and the Doctor stopped travelling together. Jack being his typical self makes them a really fun pair to meet.
"A talented and promising young authoress?" Charley chortled sarcastically. "Look, you really don’t have to be quite that smarmy while marching me to that shelter by force. As much as I enjoy the help of our most estimated American volunteers, you aren't doing much to get rid of your 'overpaid, oversexed and over here' image at the moment."
