Rec: Full Circle
Title: Full Circle
Author: Saganami Dreams
Rating: All Ages
Word Count: 27329
Author's Summary: A stop for spare parts goes a bit wrong. Set a week after the ending of The Strongest Shape, post Season 2/Torchwood.
Characters/Pairings: Ten, Jack, Rose
Warnings: None
Recc'ed Because: It's a timey-wimey action adventure story in a somewhat mild AU where Jack continues traveling with Rose and Ten after "Parting of the Ways." It has captures and escapes, assassinations, alien cultures, OCs with their own agendas, questionable moralities and Jack Harkness folding over on his own timeline. If you're in the mood for a long plotty adventure, give it a shot. It's part of a longer series but is perfectly fine to read standalone.
--------
If you kept walking past the dingy room in which Rose and Jack had taken refuge you found the docks.
What you also found, if you were very unlucky, was a contingent of armed guards.
Ducking behind a pillar, Rose watched as they loaded the TARDIS onto a waiting ship. Unable to quite believe what she was seeing, she shook her head. The Doctor was going to. . .
She lost the thought completely as the Doctor and Jack - both with their arms fastened behind their backs - were led through a door, across the docking platform, and onto the ship.
It was all she could do to hold herself back. To prevent herself from dashing out into the bay. She had no illusions about being able to attempt a rescue -- but if she got caught, she'd at least be with them.
She couldn't. Some version of Jack was lying unconscious back there and she couldn't leave him.
No matter what, you have to help those who need it most. That was what the Doctor had taught her. He and Jack were together, and they had the TARDIS, so it was only a matter of time before they escaped.
Fists clenched, nails biting into her palm, she breathed deeply. She would not panic. She had to let them go.
