Recced because:
I'm a sucker for Ace and Seven. A lot of fics look at the darker aspects of their relationship/mentor-ship/friendship/whatever it was, and that's fine. I enjoy all of the angles. This fic looks at the lighter side and throws the TARDIS in for good measure. The parallels between the TARDIS's protection of her thief and his strays, and the protection the Doctor shows his companions is a beautiful thing. There is also a very funny and very intentional typo. The TARDIS doesn't get the joke, but I'm sure you will.

She’s had–will have? is having?–her walls singed this way more than once. But the repairs are simple and the fuss she puts on, mostly perfunctory. A bit of danger’s always fun, after all.
