There was no way I was going to let this week pass by without a little Doctor/Master! :)
Story: Things You Don't Want in the Night

Word Count: 1609
Author's Summary: Right after that Martian adventure with some homicidal water, the Doctor decides to have a nice sleep; the Master wakes him up.
Characters/Pairings: The Doctor (10th), The Master (Simm)
Warnings: The author gives none, although there are a few lines that might be unsuitable for younger people.
Recced because: This fic was written shortly after ‘Water of Mars’ aired, and it’s still my favourite coda to that episode (and it even fits in with canon, kinda). After all, who better than the Master to give the Doctor a few choice words after that particular imbroglio? It’s hilarious from start to finish, and yet has a deliciously dark undercurrent. Plus both characters are so perfectly portrayed that it truly does feel like a bit of canon left behind – the Doctor’s defensiveness, the Master’s glee... I can't count how often I've re-read it.
