I can't believe this hasn't been rec'd here before! The extremely prolific and awesome wendymr regularly comes up with (IMNSHO) some of the most interesting AU premises in the Who fandom, and this one is my personal favorite. The changes that wendymr makes to the Pete's World!Doctor and Jack's back-stories are fascinating, and the way that she explores what those changes mean for the characters are even more so. And once you're done with this story, there's a bunch of others set in the same 'verse for you to enjoy!

Man, I can't believe this hasn't been recced before either! This story had me on the edge of my seat the whole time.
