jjpor may be one of the finest historical fic writers I've ever had the pleasure of reading. His Torchwood and Unit stories are top drawer and meaty. They throw you right back in time with their characters, and you are there, dragged along by him in a way that eludes the capability of many other very good writers. Thank you for rec'ing this one!
