Story: Sonnets Writ in Skin
Author: Aenaria
Rating: All Ages
Word Count: 2731
Author's Summary: He writes on Rose’s skin in Gallifreyan, the looping, swirling, interlocking patterns inked onto her flesh, preserving their story for the years to come.
Characters/Pairings: Rose Tyler, The Doctor (10th), The Doctor (9th), Rose/Doctor
Warnings: None
Recced because: The story is by turns heartbreaking and heartwarming, and is held together with a lyrical writing style that is incredibly vivid and poetic. The whole story is told in a series of vignettes that link the Doctor and Rose together through a tradition that becomes almost a character in and of itself. It's the beginning of a series, but this one shot is the one I keep coming back to for a re-read. Also, the author quotes Shakespeare, and manages to not have it be hokey, which is an automatic plus in my book.
