Story: The Absolutely Canonical Story of a Time Lord and a Scarecrow
Author: Pandastar
Rating: All ages
Word Count: 255
Author's Summary: Or, a brief history of Worzel Gummidge. Crack-fic, sort of.
Characters/Pairings: Family of Blood
Warnings: None.

Recced because: I like really short stories, drabbles and the like, especially crossovers. In 255 words Pandastar deftly explains the sinister origins of a beloved childhood character, and it makes all sorts of sense. In view of this story's length I haven't posted an extract.

Story: The Girl Who Waited
Author: PandaStar
Rating: All Ages
Word Count: 535
Author's Summary: The Doctor has trouble keeping promises with other people. Like Amy Pond -- or Jo Grant.
Characters/Pairings: The Eleventh Doctor, Jo Grant, Sarah Jane Smith
Warnings: None

Recced because: This vignette takes place during the Sarah Jane Adventures episode Death of the Doctor, when Eleven suddenly finds himself face-to-face with Jo. It's about companions waiting for the Doctor, and promises made, and promises not kept. Remember that moment in School Reunion when Sarah asked the Doctor why he never came back for her, and he replied, "I couldn't"? It's about why he acts that way. It's also very well done, right down to the last line.
