I didn't post anything yesterday. I am a terrible person. I apologize.
lol. Right. Down to business. Well, as much as reading and reccing Doctor Who fic can be considered business. *grin* In honor of the new series, here's one with Donna!

Story: Bleep Encounter
Author: WMR
Rating: All Ages
Word Count: 1293
Author's Summary: "I met the Doctor and you are very definitely not him. Unless you're all called 'Doctor' on Mars, the Doctor is a skinny streak of bacon in trainers, keeps nattering on about his ex."
Characters/Pairings: Donna, The Doctor (9th)
Warnings: None

Recced because: I love stories of the past meeting the future and this is a great, humorous, little example of Donna meeting the Ninth Doctor after the events of the Runaway Bride. Hopefully it makes you smile.

Story: Maps
Author: SpiresAboveJosephine
Rating: All Ages
Word Count: 9505
Author's Summary: "I am the Bad Wolf. I create myself. What does it matter if there are no fairy tales? Perhaps we write our own, and maybe there are no endings."
Characters/Pairings: Rose Tyler, AU Jack Harkness
Warnings: None

Recced because: I love the one-on-one interactions between Rose and Jack even if this Jack Harkness is from Pete's World. Rose decides to take matters into her own hands when Jack tells her of the destruction of Torchwood in the future. She is a strong and independent character, sad but not drowning in her grief. This is the Rose Tyler I like to believe in.

There is a sequel but once again, it's not finished. *sadness*

So, after the slight disaster that was my first rec, I come bearing a two for one (kinda).

Story: Welcome To Your Life
Author: avoria
Rating: Teen
Word Count: 40,855
Author's Summary: The most important things can be what we don’t see. Clips and companion pieces to every episode throughout the newer Season. What starts with Rose ends with Doomsday; apparently.
Character's/Pairings: Rose Tyler/The Doctor (Ninth), Jack Harkness
Warnings: Swearing but that's about it at this point.

Recced because: Avoria is one of my favorite DW authors and this is one of my favorite of her stories. It shows the progression of the relationship between the Doctor and Rose in small, intimate moments between the episodes of the first new series. It's also a great study of the Doctor and how deeply affected he is by the Time War and the things he had to do. There IS a sequel to this but it's not quite finished yet. It follows them through the second series:

Story: Life As You Know It
Author: avoria
Rating: Adult
Word Count (so far): 24,817
Author's Summary: As the relationship between Rose and the Doctor develops, can he resist the temptation of his own selfishness?
Character's/Pairings: Rose Tyler/The Doctor (Tenth), Mickey Smith
[identity profile] crimsonkitty88.livejournal.com
Story: Ouroborus
Author: Chicketieboo_
Rating: erm... I think it's 'Mature'... or 'Adult?' Yeah... you get the general idea.
Word Count: 121,490
Author's Summary: He had asked her how long she was going to stay with him and she had replied with Forever. And she did, but how does he find her in the sea of visions of all there is, all there was, and all there ever will be? What if the words Bad Wolf came back to haunt both Rose & the Doctor? What if regeneration wasn't the only thing caused by Rose sucking in the Time Vortex? How does she cope, waiting for his return? Why is she calling out for him, bringing him closer and closer, and why can't the past let go? A story about being left behind, & about finding oneself.
Character's/Pairings: Rose/The Doctor (9 and 10), Jack Harkness, Martha Jones, Pete Tyler, Jackie Tyler, Mickey Smith
Warnings: Sex and violence. Oh and it's really very long. So get comfy.

Recced because: I truly believe that if you are going to read ANY New Who story, it should be this one. I'm not kidding. You NEED to read this. It's an epic, sprawling, brilliant thing that completely takes on a life of its own and succeeds in sucking you into the lives of these characters. Chicketieboo has succeeded in making the Who universe her own and making the characters her own. There is real emotion underlying every action and spoken word and relationship. I LOVED the interactions especially between Ten and Martha as well as the Doctor and Rose. Let me just say that Martha is a different woman in this. A VERY different woman. This was written, I believe, before the third series started so quite a few things have changed as well. Heartbreaking as much as it is hopeful.
