Recced because: Adrian Tullberg seems to specialise in simple solutions that ~~mess up~~ solve the Doctor's complicated problems. This is one of them, and it's a beauty, a hilarious way to derail The Master in The End of Time.

Recced because: A companion's injury reveals a logical but disturbing answer to one of The Doctor's perennial problems, suggested by events in the last series - it's difficult to say more without spoilers. The fact that it's easy to imagine the Doctor making this choice says something about his sheer alienness; whether he's right to make it is something you'll have to decide for yourself.

Recced because: I first read this on fanfiction.net a couple of years ago, but it has only just made it to Teaspoon. It's one of many stories to deal with the problem of Donna, and finds a funny, obvious solution the Doctor evidently missed.

Recced because: As I mentioned on Monday, I'm a crossover fan. But if you're going to write crossovers using the Dr. Who rules of how time works, it becomes obvious that some other time travel stories run into serious problems. This glimpse of Jack's life as a Time Agent puts the boot into the Terminator franchise, big time. To say more would be too spoilery.

Story: The Truth Is Out There; but Who Knows

Author's Summary: Mulder and Scully investigate a gangland battle with potentially catastrophic consequences, the only witness an eccentric Englishman.
Characters/Pairings: The Doctor (8th)

Recced because:

The biggest, though perhaps not the best, reason that I love this fic is a certain line about the Doctor, fifty cups of tea, and his amazing alien bladder control.

The other reason, is the way the author combines great writing, a fun plot and good characterization, while managing to keep the story completely, and believably, grounded in both the X-file and Doctor Who segments of the cross-over. Getting an outside perspective on Eight’s behaviour is highly amusing as Mulder and Scully bicker over what to do with him.

This story is quite long, and it is all in one chapter, but if you’ve got a long night and a desire to snuggle up and read a bit of quality cross-over fic, this story makes for a highly entertaining read.
