Recced because: Apparently, today is a happy day, when it comes to recs. This is a short '5 times' sort of fic, but it's well worth your time. One of my favourite fic tropes is little stories that... well, they aren't a story, they aren't an adventure, they're just little anecdotes that you might tell the kids one day; though there is some kind of chronology to it, this story is one of those. And then there's the shipping.... well, I won't ruin the ending, but it's adorkable. Yes. Adorkable.

On today's agenda: Another Dalek story!

Story: Other People's Pets

Author's Summary: Rose decides to keep the Dalek instead of Adam. The Doctor is not amused.

Recced because: This is probably one of the funniest fics I have ever read. It's complete and utter crack!fic, and had me in stitches from beginning to end. Basically, at the end of "Dalek", Rose decides to adopt the Dalek with her DNA as a pet. From there, there's spectacularly funny times, as the Dalek (named Pedro, as all Daleks should be) is highly protective of Rose and wants to weed out her potential suitors (The Doctor and Jack included!). Even the post-Doomsday epilogue is more funny than sad, thanks to the author's incredible penchant for humor!

Recced because: Again,

amaresu is one of the writers whom I've loved everything that I've read by them. Bitter Laughter, Bitter Tears presents a lovely version of Peri who has escaped her fate at the end of 'Mindwarp' and teams her up with Adam Mitchell.

amaresu's Adam Mitchell made me feel an incredible amount of sympathy for a character I'd never thought much of. Marvellous stuff.

Recced because: Don't click away when you see the character list! Adam Mitchell is generally regarded as one of RTD's least successful creations. This is the first - and thus far, only - fic I've read that not only makes Adam into a real person, but also makes you empathize with him. The style is absolutely lovely. It's a very memorable portrayal of a character a lot of us tried to forget.

Recced because: These are simply amazing. They just might be my favorite thing in all of Who fan fiction, and I don't say that lightly. I don't know how she does it, but

livii manages to pack so much into these little stories. Entire worlds and relationships and so much emotion in tiny snapshots. And I really think there is something for everyone here. Whatever pairings or characters you prefer, whether you enjoy angst or humor or action, it's all there. And the best part is, it looks like she is going to continue to update the masterlist as she writes more of these ficlets, so bookmark this page, people!
