Title: many's the time i ran with you down
Author: saywheeeee
Rating: All Ages
Word Count: 2898
Author's Summary: Amy and the Doctor visit Aularind. Based off a scene in "crowns of snow." Winner of Challenge #2 at big_jumps.
Characters/Pairings: Eleven, Amy. Mild Eleven/Amy or friendship
Warnings: None

Recc'ed Because: I had forgotten how beautiful and poetic this story was. That means that I got to re-read and rediscover it. The world-building is beautiful, the characters and settings vibrant and alive, and the ending is a bittersweet reminder of how the Doctor lives from one moment to another, rarely looking back.

Story: each piece inextricably
Author: saywheeeee
Rating: Teen
Word Count: 2190
Author's Summary: The Doctor falls in love with Amy.
Characters/Pairings: Eleven/Amy
Warnings: None; author's summary warns for mild profanity and spoilers through "The Time of Angels."
Recced because: This is a really sweet and gorgeous story. It's formatted as a series of vignettes of Amy's adventures with the Doctor. Saywheeeee really manages to capture the magical, lighthearted atmosphere of early Season-5 Who. The best part is her prose: so lovely, spare, and lyrical. Here's an excerpt:

Story: Incubus
Author: saywheeeee
Rating: Adult
Word Count: 5092
Author's Summary: Something terrible is trapped in the TARDIS with Amy, and the Doctor is powerless to stop it. Warnings: adult themes, very dark.
Characters/Pairings: Eleven, Amy
Warnings: Non-con, explicit violence
Recced because: This is a gripping story that gets the voices just right.  You can't go wrong with saywheeeee, and here she proves that she is just as good at dark intensity as she is at gorgeous prose and romance.  Plotty and well-crafted, this story is impressively thought-out.  There's a lot for h/c lovers to like, as well.  I won't give any spoilers, but I will say that the ending couldn't be any more perfect than it is.

Hello, again!  I must confess that the majority of what I have to rec for you this week is Eleventh Doctor-era, but I will try my best to make sure there are a variety of characters/pairings.  And I promise I have some different-era stuff for later in the week.  On that note....

Story: keep her lustrous eyes
Author: saywheeeee
Rating: Teen
Word Count: 1684
Author's Summary: Amy Pond is drowning.
Characters/Pairings: Eleven/Amy
Warnings: none

Recced because: This is an incredibly well-crafted story.  It's lyrical, heartbreaking, and it keeps you on the edge of your seat.  It switches back and forth between Amy and the Doctor's perspectives, but the imagery provides a visual motif that ties it all together really elegantly.  Maybe it's a bit English-major-y to say that, but that really is how well this piece works.

Hi! I will be your reccer for this week, and I'd like to offer you some treasures, both old and new. I should warn you that I love the eleventh Doctor, and have always been one to ship current!Doctor/current!Companion, so do expect some Eleven/Amy. However my love of the new does not stop me loving the old, so expect to see some Classic Who as well.

Story: hung aloft the night
Author: saywheeeee
Rating: pg-13
Word Count: 1603
Author's Summary: The Doctor marries Amy.
Characters/Pairings: Eleven/Amy
Warnings: None.

Recced because:
Reading this is like listening to an incredibly uplifting and joyful song. It moves eloquently from one moment to the next and manages to just be happy. Saywheeeee has captured the characters perfectly and uses them beautifully. This story is the fourth part in a larger series, and the author recommends that you read the others first. However I think this stands very well by itself, though of course I urge you to read the others as well.
