This is hilarious, cute as all get-out, and perfectly written. I seriously want this in an episode, because I can just see the look Capaldi would have on his face while delivering his end of the dialogue. His voice is flawlessly captured. You'll have a huge smile on your face after reading this gem!

Recced because: I’ve rec’ed at least one exquisitely uncomfortable story this week. Having done so, I find I need to return to an author who has provided me with some of the most comfortable and comforting pieces of fiction it’s been my pleasure to consume. betawho loves one of my favorite couples, Eleven and River, and reading this particular little piece is definitely a tiny, high-quality gem of the sort that leaves one smiling. (If, like me, you’re an Eleven/River fan who occasionally enjoy pieces of fluff that make you go “awwww” without getting too gummed up in sweetness, I’d recommend a large slice of the author’s oeuvre.)

A taste: Nope, this one is too short — just go and enjoy it!

This story very concisely draws out a number of things that will only make sense to Rory later and that mean the world to Mels at the time. It's heartwarming and sweet, and it ends just perfectly.

Recced because: Betawho has a great Peri voice and has her and Six's dynamic down pat; plus, this story showcases an interesting take on regeneration, an original planet that I'd love to visit, and two fascinating character studies. However, none of those things are the reason I'm reccing this.

Sunlight dappled the dales and fields below, glinting off the rippling river. Meadows were a virtual jubilation of flowers, reds and purples and yellows. She'd much prefer to be down there collecting specimens, she'd seen some interesting looking brassica and bassilicum, rather than up here where she was likely to get snakebit or buried in an avalanche.

"What's the problem?" She turned her face up at that familiar impatient voice. Yellow trouser legs led up to his golden backlit explosion of hair. She shaded her eyes.

"I just thought I'd take a moment to compose my will before I fall down the mountain and die."
