Story: Starting Over
Author: hence_the_name
Rating: All Ages
Word Count: 16,400
Author's Summary: The TARDIS lands in Cardiff with a mysteriously ill Doctor on board.
Characters/Pairings: Jack/Ten, Donna, Martha
Warnings: None.

Recced because: Anyone in fandom who knows me for five minutes knows I am the world's biggest sucker for well-done h/c - and this this fic is exactly that, but so much more as well! It's post-Journey's End, so our poor Doctor is in dire need of some comfort. [livejournal.com profile] hence_the_name writes beautifully and has a deft hand with both the characters and their relationships.

I forgot to mention this yesterday, but if you read, please drop the author a comment! It's always lovely to have comments roll in unexpectedly months (or years!) after you've posted something.

Story: A Step in the Right Direction
Author: hence_the_name/[livejournal.com profile] hence_the_name
Rating: All Ages
Word Count: 1597
Author's Summary: Back on the TARDIS, the Doctor needs a rest after the events of "Midnight."
Characters/Pairings: Ten, Donna (or Ten/Donna, if you squint)
Warnings: None

Recced because: There are many things I love about Doctor Who, but two things that I love-like-burning are the episode 'Midnight' and the awesomeness that is Ten and Donna together. This fic by [livejournal.com profile] hence_the_name does a magnificent job at showcasing these two delights of mine, winding angst with fluff, friendship with deep affection, and curling them together into a snapshot of a tender moment of hurt/comfort between Donna and the Doctor. He is arguably the most vulnerable she's ever seen him, but as was often the case with them, she seems to be just the right salve at the right time for him. This story is a beautiful expression of that healing relationship they shared.

Story: Walk in the Dust
Author: hence_the_name
Rating: All Ages
Word Count: 800
Charcters/Pairings: Tenth Doctor
Author's Summary: The Doctor thinks about Donna after Journey's End.

Recced because: hence_the_name is one of my favourite authors hands down. She just gets both Donna and the Doctor so very well. Journey's End is a story about endings. But it's also about the Doctor realising just how much he really has. hence_the_name takes the heartbreak of the episode and turns it on its ear, showing the Doctor grieving and learning that the best way he can remember Donna is do as she would've wanted: walked in the dust.
