Story: Teaboy
Author: Spastasmagoria
Rating: all ages
Word Count: 1653
Author's Summary: Owen learns more about just what it is that Ianto does.
Characters/Pairings: Ianto Jones, Owen Harper, Gwen Cooper
Warnings: Acid +5? Nah, to be serious for a second it's set after the end of S1 and before S2.

Recced because: This is an hilarious examination of some of the nitty gritty of Torchwood; where do all the bodies go? While the Doctor usually deals with the aftermath of his adventures by moving on, Team Torchwood rely on Ianto Jones to clean up after them in every way. Spastasmagoria gives us a slightly more frightening Ianto than many ficcers do and I love the combination of efficiencies in all of his duties. Add a great Owen voice and you have a really fun TW fic!

Story: A Cuddle for a Dalek
Author: [livejournal.com profile] spastasmagoria
Rating: All-Ages
Word Count: 1697
Author's Summary: There's only one thing the deranged dustbin wants in all the universe.
Characters/Pairings: Barbara, Ian, Peri, Ace, Rose, Mickey, Jack, Gwen, Future!Doctor, and a Dalek.
Warnings: Silliness

This one is a wonderfully humorous multi-era romp, all centered around a Dalek (capable of a "temporal shift of infinite sadness") that just wants a hug. Particularly amusing are the reactions of Peri and Ace, but every scene is quite brilliant (including the small hints about the fashion sense of the future!Doctor).

Story: "Torchwood Babiez: Missing Shoes"
Author:spastasmagoria (and [profile] jigglykat)  See also [profile] tw_babiez. . .
Rating: All Ages
Word Count: Officially 25, but kinda N/A in this case . . .
Author's summary: "Designed specifically to kill you with cute. The byproduct of too much booze and conventions... we give to you... WHY KIDS AND TORCHWOOD SHOULD NEVER BE IN THE SAME SENTENCE. (comic-fic)"
Characters/Pairings: Jack Harkness, Gwen Cooper, Ianto Jones, Toshiko Sato, Owen Harper, Rose Tyler, Tenth Doctor (all as you've never seen 'em before . . .)
Warnings:  Warning numero uno: this is a WIP, with an uncertain end date, though it is still in production.  Warning numero two-o: it's sheerest crack.  Warning numero three-o:  it is addictive.

Recced because: It's weird, funny, cracky as heck, and cuter than all get out.  Also, it's brilliantly executed, both story and art.  Dame Ruth says, "check it out!"

Series:  Almost—Not Quite—Maybe
Author:  spantasmagoria
Rating:  Teen
Word Count:  7,609 for the whole series
Author’s Summary: After an accident on an alien planet, Jack and the Doctor end up as...roommates in the Doctor's skull.
Characters/Pairings:  Ninth Doctor/Rose, Jack
Warnings:  Crack! Also, discussion of sex.

Recommended because:
Friday calls for crack!fic.  What better crack can there be than Nine/Rose crack with Jack playing matchmaker…while cohabiting the Doctor’s body?  “Almost—Not Quite—Maybe” is full of priceless moments.  There’s snappy dialog and zany situations.  The Doctor is grouchy, Rose is exasperated, and Jack is mischievous.  There’s Jackie and a game of Twister (but not at the same time).   Jack goes out on the town and decides he loves the 21st century.  Pranks are played.  spantasmagoria's great comic timing still makes me laugh with every reread.

Story: Hok'taur
Author: spastasmagoria
Rating: All Ages
Word Count: 16,666
Author's Summary: Nirrti's experiments into building a super-host have lead her to a certain Time Lord. SG-1 and the Doctor stop her from creating a host capable of command over time and space. (Stargate Crossover)
Characters/Pairings: Ninth Doctor, Rose Tyler, SG-1, Nirrti
Warnings: N/A

Recced because: This entire story takes place in those 18 seconds in Rose that the Doctor is gone, leaving Rose in the alley with Mickey. This is the story of that missing time - which of course is an adventure - and why he came back. The Doctor is still traumatised after the War, but soldiering on like he always does, though it seems that this blonde child is sticking in his thoughts more than she should. Meanwhile, the Goa'uld Nirrti has snagged herself some Time Lord DNA which she plans to use to create an ultra-super-duper new host, which the Doctor - and SG-1 - loudly protest.

This is a great view of the Doctor in his element, saving the world while trying to figure out the mind of a nineteen year old human female as the world explodes around him. Literally. However, my favourite parts in this entire story are the Doctor and Jack O'Neill interactions; communicating one soldier to another.

Story: Boys Toys
Author: Spastamagoria
Rating: All Ages
Word Count: 979
Charcters/Pairings: Team Torchwood
Warnings: Craaaaaaaaack!
Author's Summary: Jack and Owen worry about the important things...like who has the coolest stuff.

recced because: It's Friday and Friday calls for Crack!Fic. This? Over-the-top funny. So, the Torchwood Boys are having an internet smackdown with the boys from Gotham over who has the coolest stuff. Yes, those boys from Gotham - it's a Batman/Torchwood Crossover. But even if all you know about Batman is that he has a sidekick, you can stiil appreciate the LOL funny. Spastamagoria manages to write screamingly hysterical crack while still keeping the character's voices true which is the benchmark of the very best crackfic. It's been a long week, so go ahead and click...you know you're curious. ;)

The series continues in Boys Toys 2 and Boys Toys 3 but sometimes one is all you need.

Story: The Unsexy Sex
Author: Spastasmagoria
Rating: None Listed, assume Teen
Word Count: 1166
Author's Summary: A story in which Rose fakes many orgasms.
Characters/Pairings: Ten/Rose, OC's
Warnings: Frank discussion of sexual matters.

Recced because: This is quite possibly one of the best pieces of crack!fic to come from this fandom. Not only does it deal well (and believably) with the concept of the Doctor and Rose having a child, but it displays a great deal of in-character humor about the situation. The entire fic is incredibly quotable, a series of snappy one-liners that mesh as a whole in a way that doesn't seem forced. It's a quick, light, fun bit of fluff, and I've wound up reading it a good dozen times when I've been in need of a pick-me-up.

Did I mention the one-liners? )
