Story: The Worst Doctor Who Story Ever
Author: Astrid
Rating: all ages
Word Count: 608
Author's Summary: For April Fools Day, I present something I wrote last year as a parody of all the bad Doctor Who fics (well, bad fics in general). I'm very sorry about this, I really am.
Characters/Pairings: Eighth Doctor, The Master, Adric, Ace, Peri, Mel, Romana II, Sarah Jane (and more)
Warnings: none

Recced because: I laughed non-stop at this absurd yet accurate send up of badfic. We've all seen them- probably lurking in the dark corners of fanfiction.net: fics written as one endless paragraph, riddled with misspelled words, oblivious to punctuation or grammar. They usually feature a Mary Sue and some character bashing for good measure. This one ticks all those boxes perfectly, and I couldn't stop giggling as it hit every cliched trope in Doctor Who fandom over the head with a mallet. This fic is short, so the (intentionally) terrible formatting shouldn't be an obstacle to enjoying this hilarious parody. (And honestly the misspellings just make it funnier- I nearly lost it at 'Parry' and 'Ramona' LOL)

Story: Good ol' Captain Smaarg
Author: Pab
Rating: All Ages
Word Count: 4,164
Author's Summary: The Master is to be executed. His last wish: to see the Doctor. His plan: to change places. And so the Doctor finds himself being taken for execution while the Master has the key to the TARDIS. As for Captain Smaarg, he's too concerned with paperwork. And Peri? She suspects nothing.
Characters/Pairings: The Doctor (5th), Peri, the Master
Warnings: None

Recced because: As I was observing the other day, I find something very pleasing about Doctor Who stories told from the point of view of the hapless or oblivious characters who have fleeting contacts with the Doctor and his companions in the course of their activities, and this is in part one of those. It also reflects the way in which the best things about many official Who stories are their weird and wonderful supporting characters, even if the main supporting character in this case is one of the author's creation. As I've reflected before, there is a school of thought that frowns upon fanfic which focuses on OCs, but I personally have no problem with it, and when these characters are as engaging and well-drawn as they are here, they can actually be one of the real pleasures to be had in reading fic.

The author's summary above pretty much covers the plot of this fic, but the plot here is secondary to the aim of telling a very mid-80s Who story, for the most part from the perspective of the officious, bureaucracy-loving, mammalophobic alien official Captain Smaarg, who really can't be bothered with these Time Lords and humans messing up his paperwork with their adventures. When I say mid-80s, I mean the way in which this fic captures so well various features of that era, such as the Fifth Doctor's quiet exasperation with the universe, the Master's sheer dastardliness and Peri's attempts at diplomacy. You can vividly picture the wonky, overlit corridors the story almost certainly takes place within, and the characters' costumes recycled from old Baker-era stories, and I mean that as a heartfelt compliment to the author.

Smaarg himself is a delight to behold, a sort of reptilian Gordon Brittas, but without the unconquerable optimism or, frankly, the essentially good intentions. Nevertheless, for all of his lack of imagination and petty-minded pedantry, he is portrayed as somebody who genuinely does love his job and think that it is vital to the perpetuation of the greater good, while remaining blithely unaware up to now of the unpopularity his pettifogging has given rise to among his colleagues and, indeed, everybody else he encounters. It's quite an achievement on the part of the author to make this character essentially sympathetic, helping the Doctor save the day at least as much as he hinders him. The fact that the story is also at several points genuinely laugh out loud funny certainly helps.

So go and check it out. I hope you'll like it as much as I did.

Title: Rescue Mission
Author: Liz Rambler
Rating: All Ages
Word Count: 4265
Author's Summary: The Eleventh Doctor is on his farewell tour and decides to take care of a few loose ends while he's at it. First on his list: Check on Peri.
Characters/Pairings: Eleventh Doctor, Peri Brown, King Yrcanos
Warnings: None

Recc'ed Because: If you know me, you know I have a soft spot for Peri. I met her mostly through the Big Finish audio adventures with both Five and Six, and when I finally got around to watching Mindwarp I was... well, less than impressed on the send-off she got on the show. This story takes the improbable "happy ending" that Peri got and treats it exactly as it should be treated... as a rescue mission. Not only that, it's Eleven's rescue mission, and I also have a huge soft spot for Eleven. This story is a snappy, quick-talking adventure, equal parts forthright and funny, with just enough of a hint of real danger and more complex emotions underlying everything to keep it away from pure farce or crackfic. The dialogue and character voices are fantastic and lucky for us Eleven and Peri fans, it seems it may be the beginning of a series. So I say, go read it and encourage this lovely new Teaspoon author :)

Author's Summary: Peri stumbles across a box of memories.

Recced because: The idea of the Doctor writing letters to his departed companions, saying things he wanted to say, but never to be sent, is an interesting one, and this little fic manages to pack a lot of emotion into it's short length. The letters presented here for Five's former companions are right on the nose, bittersweet though they may be, and it makes me wish I could read one for every companion.

Author: Lyricwritesprose
Rating: All Ages
Word Count: 1957
Author's Summary: Peri and the Doctor discuss botany, and the Doctor remembers what interests her.
Characters/Pairings: Peri Brown, The Doctor (6th)
Warnings: None

Recced because: Only the other day, I was discussing the venerable Who tradition of offloading surplus companions by marrying them off to random guest characters, and mentioned that I thought Vicki taking off with Troilus was actually one of the occasions when it worked as a storytelling choice. One of the more bizarre examples has to be Peri's apparent romance with Yrcanos at the end of Trial of a Time Lord. I think in recent years I've come around to the idea of it, however ill-advised it might seem. For one thing, it's a better outcome for Peri than the other alternative facing her in that particular story. For another thing, I've found that I actually quite like BRIAN BLESSED's turn in "Mind Warp" and his interactions with Peri - you can almost believe in their relationship if you, like, squint a bit. I also rather like the bizarre version of events given in the epilogue of the Target novelisation, where he somehow ends up as a pro wrestler in 1980s California with Peri as his manager. I think the main thing that's brought me around to quite liking Peri's ending, however, is that there is so much really nice fic out there about what she did next. And this, from a writer who needs no introduction around these parts, is a very fine example.

There is much more to this fic than that, however. We get a nice scene from the period when Peri was still travelling with Six, which features a discussion of botany (nice to see Peri getting a chance to use her expertise) and of Gallifreyan botany in particular. I'm a sucker for Gallifreyan worldbuilding at the best of times, but this is some tip-top stuff addressing a bit of lore we've all heard of but perhaps not thought too deeply about and in a genuinely science-fictional manner too. The part of the story set in Peri's post-Doctor period is just as good, with lots of nice hints about just what sort of society Krontep is (Yrcanos, you may not be entirely surprised to discover, is not some weirdly violent outlier as far as his culture and people go), and how Peri's time there hasn't always been easy but how she has managed to make a fulfilling life there. The main thing I like about this fic, however, is the great characterisation (something I always come back to when discussing fics I like); Peri and the Doctor both shine here, with Six's unique manner and verbosity coming through particularly clearly. I think it's Peri you'll remember afterwards, though, for her wit, her wisdom and her overcoming of adversity, as well as the heartfelt but not uncritical affection she has for both of the men in her life beyond Earth.

Well, go on - go and read it!

Recced because: I’m re-watching old Who at the moment and just finished Mindwarp. I quite like Peri, but I dislike her being made into a perpetual sex object. Author's summary: Peri and the Doctor have a heart to hearts about life, freedom, and what happened on Varos.

Recced because: This is a story I keep coming back to again and again. The Doctor and Peri had many unresolved issues in their relationship, and because of the brevity of Colin Baker's run as the Doctor, we didn't get a whole lot of time to explore it on screen. This fic offers a quiet, introspective moment between them, of the kind I always wished we'd have more of on the show. In relatively few words, the author manages to convey a whole world of understanding passing between them. Both the characters and the reader somehow can fill in the blanks of what goes unsaid, and when they do open up and voice their affection for one another, it feels direct and authentic. It has a melancholy to it, but also beauty in the ambiance of dusk and summer beside a lake, where two wandering souls find comfort in their friendship. If you love Six & Peri this is a must-read, and if you don't, you might just like them better after reading it.

Recced because:

Great writing, emotional dialogue, and a startling twist.

Peri is the Schrodinger's Cat of Doctor Who. Here, Ten pays her a visit to ask for forgiveness with words and actions. Meeting the Doctor has effected Peri's life in good ways and bad. She's rather philosophic about it: happy about what she's gained, and pragmatic about what she's lost. This fic shows how much the Doctor cares about his companions, even though he is a coward sometimes; especially when it comes to loss. Most of all, it shows how much the Doctor needs the people he travels with and what he might turn into without their influence. I recommend reading this twice, because some of Peri's early observations become much more significant following the final paragraph.

Recced Because: It is an odd little story, exploring the idea of predestination paradoxes. Usually with this kind of thing, the Doctor is the one who changes the companion. He shows them the universe, and they become a better person because of that. It is quite easy to forget that the companions change the Doctor just as much as he changes them, and that is why I love this fic. It clearly shows the delicate relationship between the two, while also paying homage to the fact that the companions are amazing and usually go on to be amazing after their time in the TARDIS. The last line is a nice touch too, with the Doctor portrayed not as the all-knowing Time Lord, but the wanderer, the traveller who marvels at the beauty and mystery of the universe.

Recced because:It's a play on the numerous (intentional) plot holes and is-it-canon-or-not-canon-questions all Whovians have to deal with at some point. With fifty years of series, not everything always makes sense. Two events from the history of the show can completely contradict each other and still both be awesome (a big cheer for timey-wimey stuff!). This fic takes that fact and runs with it, exploring 8 different scenes from Doctors 1 to 8 with humour and wit. The scenes used here are (in)famous throughout the fandom, and reading about them brought a knowing smile to my face. It's under a thousand words, so even if you're in a hurry, check it out. Recced because: This short foray into what may or may not have been is most wonderful, I think, because it gives a bit of closure to Six and Sarah Jane when they each need it most. I was particularly impressed by Six's emotional characterization--good Six is relatively hard to come by. As a whole, "Abandoned Companion" is delightfully in-character, fits neatly into canon, and is the sort of story that occasionally makes the reader cry. (I mean this in the best possible way.) It's fluffy without being too fluffy, poignant and touching while still not too heavy--all in all, a lovely read.

She is highly popular (and oft recced) for a very, very good reason. She KNOWS the Doctors through and through - and Six is no exception. She gets the joke of it all and brings it to the fic-table with a flourish that leaves me dry-mouthed with envy and wanting more despite my jealousy. Her Six is everything we see and then some: dry, brassy, loud, uncompromising, witty and quick-tempered. But he is also THE DOCTOR and she shows that with a humorous pen that has no rival. This is a tale about a Thief and his Blue Box - and how She would like to remain a Blue Box thank-you-very-much. A delightful tongue-in-cheek fiction that shows the Doctor knows more than he reveals and that his Machine knows (and loves him) even better than that. Though...he really needs to ask HER before deciding certain things.

If you're not familiar, they're basically fanfics of other fanfics - taking someone else's work and giving it a new spin, a new perspective, or expanding it somehow. In this fic, Rynne started with A Bad Habit by Hokuto, which is a fun short piece about the Doctor and the Master working together, and expanded that idea into a series of confrontations and cooperative moments between the Doctor and the Master. Someone pass me the popcorn! Let's take bets on who'll throw the first chair!

This fic captures Six and Peri exquisitely - they're at the top of their already very fine bickering form, and placed in a trope-tastic situation from which thousands of characters before them haven't managed to escape the inevitable. And yet... Well, I don't want to ruin the surprise - go read it for yourself!

Excerpt:

“This is all your fault,” Peri Brown snapped waspishly. A close observer would note that she appeared remarkably fidgety, and appeared to be crossing and uncrossing her legs with remarkable frequency. She seemed to have some difficulty in remaining settled in her seat. She was brushing at the skin of her arm, as if she had an itch, but the same close observer would see that her hand appeared to be stroking her skin rather than scratching it.

The Doctor spun around from the TARDIS console in a flurry of brightly coloured coat tails and moral outrage. “My fault?!” he repeated incredulously. “And who was it, I wonder, who warned you to stay away from those flower beds in the first place? It’s not my fault that you allowed your otherwise laudable botanical curiosity to overrule your good senses and reject my as-it-turns-out remarkably sound advice!”

Hey everyone, it’s September 9th! You know what that means? We’re 107 days away from Christmas! And what better way to celebrate the festive season way, way too early than by fourteen tales of Winter Wonder with – get this – EVERY Doctor, Sarah Jane, Torchwood and K9?

Story: Christmas

Rating: All Ages
Word Count: 20,432
Author's Summary: A collection of Christmas themed stories throughout Time and Space. Spoilers from all of Doctor Who, Torchwood, The Sarah Jane Adventures and K9.
Characters/Pairings: 9th Doctor, Rose Tyler, Mickey Smith, Jackie Tyler; 5th Doctor, Peri Brown; 10th Doctor, Martha Jones, Donna Noble, The Cybermen; K9 Mark 2, Alistair Gryffen; 7th Doctor, Ace, Mel Bush, Sabalom Glitz; 8th Doctor, Grace Holloway; 4th Doctor, Leela, Romana II; Jack Harkness, Alonso Frame; 3rd Doctor, Liz Shaw; 1st Doctor, Steven Taylor; 11th Doctor, Amy Pond, Rory Williams, Ian Chesterton, Barbara Wright; Sarah Jane Smith, Luke Smith, Clyde Langer, Rani Chandra, Jo Jones, Santiago Jones; 2nd Doctor, Ben Jackson, Polly Wright; 6th Doctor, Evelyn Smythe.
Warnings: None

Recced because: darkestboy is one of those authors who has done the seemingly impossible and written fan fiction for nigh-on every corner of the Doctor Who Universe, yet he has yet to receive any significant recognition for it, which is a tad unfair. This collection in question via a logical theme is a perfect example of this fact and every short story is great, ranging from the lost Christmas for Rose Tyler, to Winter reunions with Grace Holloway and Liz Shaw to the 1st Doctor dressed as Santa Claus! A fine introduction to this author’s work. The idea of a set of stories for all the Doctors is inspired too and he’s already started a second one for spooky Halloween. Indeed I’m thinking of trying something similar myself! Hope you like this!

Story: Distances
Author: Levendis
Rating: All Ages
Word Count: 4907
Author's Summary: Running fast to stand still, or the more things change the more they stay the same, or a series of vignettes about fish and possible nows.
Characters/Pairings: Ace McShane, Adric, Brigadier Lethbridge-Stewart, Donna Noble, Nyssa, Peri Brown, Tegan Jovanka, The Daleks, The Doctor (10th), The Doctor (11th), The Doctor (1st), The Doctor (2nd), The Doctor (3rd), The Doctor (4th), The Doctor (5th), The Doctor (6th), The Doctor (7th), The Doctor (8th), The Doctor (9th)
Warnings: None
Recced because: This is a fic about the Doctor - all of him, the essence of him. It is a series of vignettes, but they are unsorted and sort of higgledy-piggledy, consisting of briefly captured moments (or lifetimes), and most of the time it takes a few lines, or even paragraphs, before it’s possible to put a face, a time, a context, a ‘number’ to the Doctor in question. This disorientation works beautifully to highlight how he truly is the same man, how who he was/is/will be is all part of one continuous story. Some parts are sad, some happy; others funny, or profound, or deeply touching. But above all, this fic reminds me that the Doctor just is.

Story: A Simple Explanation
Author: Okami
Rating: All Ages
Word Count: 745
Author's Summary: How is cricket played anyways? The Doctor tries to clarify. Wherein is contained the world's longest sentence.
Characters/Pairings: Five, Peri
Warnings: Five explains cricket.

Recced because:

After four years this fic still makes me giggle. It’s also the first thing I think of whenever anyone, for whatever reason, mentions cricket. Oh! And it has some hidden Hitch Hiker’s references for extra bonus points.

Excerpt:

“That’s not a very fair thing to say! Besides, baseball is everywhere in America, and how different could cricket be? You hit a ball with something wooden and run in a circle. Right?”

“So why bother asking about it?”

“Well, I’m curious.”

“Alright. But....you won’t get it.” he sighed resignedly.

Note: I get off work at miserable-o-clock at night so most of my recs are going to appear late in the evening. Sorry about that and sorry about another 6th Doctor rec. My last, I promise! I WILL spread the love around...

Title: Field Trip
Author: vvj5
Rating: All Audiences
Word count: 5,482
Author's summary: "Ian and Barbara encounter an unexpected danger on their school trip. Luckily, the Doctor is there to come to their rescue. In a manner of speaking."
Characters: Ian, Barbara, Peri, the 6th Doctor, a pack of brats and a couple of monsters with tentacles.
Warnings: None

Recced because: It's funny as hell! Spot-on characterization as well. A well-written charmer from beginning to end.

“It could be him,” said Ian as they hesitated at the entrance. “It’s incredible, but you know how he is — was.”

She remained stubborn, merely giving a small shake of her head and then she put a hand to the TARDIS. “Ian, I don’t think I can. Not again -.”

“Well, either that, or we have to explain how we lost a dozen children on a field trip,” he said. “And while to lose one child might be counted a misfortune, to lose twelve -!”

Story:Twelve Years and Four Psychiatrists
Author: Sanguine Ink
Rating: All Ages
Word Count: 3906
Author's Summary: Why Amy needed four psychiatrists. Cameos from Doctors 1-10.
Characters/Pairings: Amy Pond, Rory Williams, Doctors 1-11 plus companions
Warnings:. None

Recced because: This is the best explanation I’ve read so far for Amy’s personality and how the twelve years of waiting affected her. The story is extremely funny, and could almost be considered crack!fic, except that the Doctors are all perfectly in character, and their encounters with Amy seem wonderfully plausible.

Story: Five Times the Doctor Got in the Way of Captain Janeway (and One Time They Got Along Just Fine)

Author: vvj5

Rating: All ages

Word Count: 5,526

Author's Summary: Captain Janeway doesn't think much of time travellers and higher beings who turn up on board her ship.  The Doctor doesn't take much notice of prime directives.  It's a tea/coffee thing.

Characters/Pairings: Doctors One, Three, Six, Eight, Nine & Eleven; Vicki, Jo, Peri, Charley, Captain Janeway, various Voyager crew members

Warnings: None

Recced because:

This week I’m trying to rec mainly authors who haven’t been recced here before, but since this bit of crossover fun merges my two favorite SciFi fandoms it caught my eye.  The Doctors and companions are all spot-on, and so are Captain Janeway and her crew.  It’s always fun to see someone interacting with multiple Doctors, especially when it’s non-linear.

Story: Thirteen Conversations About One Thing
Author: Amy Wolf
Rating: All Ages
Word Count: 6792
Author's Summary: "I'm half-human, on my mother's side."
Characters/Pairings: Doctors 1-13, Susan, Victoria, Sarah Jane, Romana II, Tegan, Peri, Ace, Grace, Jackie, Martha, Original Companions
Warnings: None

Recced because: "I'm half-human, on my mother's side." That one little line from the TVM is arguably the most hated piece of dialogue in the history of the show. But what if it were true? This fic explores what that might mean for the Doctor and his relationships with humans, using the device of showing thirteen different conversations where thirteen Doctors touch upon -- or just manage to avoid touching upon -- the subject. It's a skillful exploration, dripping with nicely drawn characterizations, and the ending is wonderful.

Story: A List of the Lost
Author: aralias
Rating: All Ages
Word Count: 3889
Author's Summary: Five times the fifth Doctor was alone with one of his companions, each time after losing someone else.
Characters/Pairings: Fifth Doctor, Adric, Nyssa, Tegan, Turlough, Peri
Warnings: References to character death

Recced because: The Fifth Doctor traveled with a lot of companions, and he traveled with a lot of companions who also traveled with each other. But no one travels with the Doctor forever. In a series of vignettes, this fic explores each companion's reaction to the loss of someone, and in so doing, explores how each companion sees his or her own relationship to the Doctor. Taken individually, the vignettes are a wonderful series of character studies; added together, they are a study on the Doctor himself, and an insightful look into the Doctor/companion relationship.

Story: Unbirthday
Author: DameRuth
Rating: All Ages
Word Count: 3089
Author's summary: Peri teaches the Doctor about a new holiday.
Characters: Six, Peri
Warnings: none

Recced because: The Sixth Doctor and Peri both seem to rank near the bottom of the fandom's list of favorite characters, and I love that this sweet little story takes what we saw on screen and transforms it. Neither of the characters are unrecognizable, but somehow they feel right. Peri is smart and independent and absolutely knows how to handle the Doctor. The Doctor, for his part, is all brash and bold, but genuinely cares about Peri. It's a great look at how these two can be a brilliant match for one another.

Story: When We Were Six
Author: aralias
Rating: All ages
Word Count: 2099
Author's Summary: The Doctor takes Peri on holiday to Devon, except it isn't Devon: it's Strathclyde.
Characters/Pairings: Sixth Doctor, Donna Noble, Peri Brown, Wilfred Mott
Warnings: None.

Recced because: Written for the 2009 Sixathon (the challenge being ‘all the companions’), the Doctor contemplates a red-headed six-year-old companion before we ever saw or heard of wee!Amelia - her name's Donna Noble. The interactions between the two (and Peri) are lovely, with the voices spot on, as are Wilfred’s proud grandfatherly reactions at the end. And debating the rights and wrongs of kidnapping a six-year-old, arguing about whether the Doctor might be a clown or a superhero, and Donna's reason for being in Strathclyde - it's brilliant, and funny, and clever. And there’s a bright pink hat. Possibly a planet of the hats, as well, but that’s for another day. What more could you want?

Story:  The Ten Doctors
Author: JJPOR
Rating: Teen
Word Count: 25,568
Author’s Summary: It was history’s greatest and most famous party.
Characters/Pairings: The first ten Doctors and Romana plus a wide assortment of companions, a couple of classic Masters and the Brigadier, toss well.
Warnings: None
Recced because: I nearly passed it over this time merely because JJPOR is a very popular author who had another well-deserved recommendation just last week (don’t miss that one either!), but decided we’d just let this be his month for a bounty of riches, goodness knows he’s given all of us enough reading enjoyment to deserve it.

This piece was written as a tribute for the 45th anniversary of the show and it quite appropriately is the sort of multi-Doctor fic that brings the reader back again and again for another round.  I expect nearly every writer has to give the “what would happen if all of the Doctors were together at once” scenario a try, but some are definitely better than others; this is one of the good ones and you won’t regret it for a moment.

In essence, Ten has decided that a doomed planet famous for having partied hard right up until the moment their sun went supernova would be the perfect setting for a gathering of his selves and as the guests arrive each and every one is so perfectly portrayed it is a complete delight.  Poor Susan making the best of a doting crowd of Grandfathers, Romana’s opinions regarding the appetizers and Six’s opinions regarding her plus the consequences of expressing those thoughts aloud are only a sprinkle of the stellar moments here, a fabulous panorama lightly sauced with punch.  As no doubt suspected, there are humorous moments but also a few snatches of adventurousness and even some serious and empathetic twists for the heart.

For the uninitiated to his works, JJPOR is a find indeed; a top-notch competent, imaginative and high quality writer whose stories never disappoint.  I highly recommend without reservation not only this particular bit of mildly cracky fancy, but any of his stories across the spectrum.  Enjoy the ride.

Story: Five Times Lord Braxiatel Had Occasion to Regret The Doctor’s Exile Very Deeply Indeed (And One Time He Wished The Doctor Would Just Sod Off Forever)
Author: x_los
Rating: Teen
Word Count: 8119
Author's summary: The Doctor is many things to many people, but to Irving Braxiatel he is the universe's most annoying little brother.
Characters/Pairings: Braxiatel, Susan, Delgado!Master, Fourth Doctor, Fifth Doctor, Tegan, Turlough, Ainley!Master, Sixth Doctor, Evelyn, Peri, Romana II, Leela, Eighth Doctor, Narvin
Warnings: spoilers for the Gallifrey audios in the final part

Recced because: It sucks to be the Doctor's older brother. It really, really sucks. And nobody knows that better than “Irving” Braxiatel. Luckily, nobody suffers quite as beautifully as Brax does, either, which is a good thing as this fic is pretty much as it says on a tin: an exercise in showing all the many ways that the Doctor has ruined Braxiatel's life. No, wait, let me rephrase that: all the many hilarious ways that the Doctor has ruined Braxiatel's life. Because this fic is one of the funniest I've read in a long while. And, oddly enough, it's one of the better character studies too.

The sound of a dematerialization made them all look towards the TARDIS–but she was showing no signs of immanent departure. Indeed her sturdy blue frame seemed to silently rebuke them for doubting her reliability. In the direction they’d all just turned from, someone coughed. In unison three heads swiveled back to the plant. A man in a human business suit hovered above the manzanita.

“You stop right there, Master, that plant is endangered!” Peri yelled, standing as if she planned to fight him off the bush.

“Peri,” the Doctor sighed, “not everyone who’s made unwise facial hair decisions and wants a chat with me is the Master. Sometimes it’s only Shakespeare, or, in this case, Irving Braxiatel.”
