Title: A Little Rest for the Wounds
Author: Calapine
Rating: Adult
Word count: 690
Author's summary: The Doctor, a werewolf and a house in Brazil.
Characters/Pairings: Tenth Doctor/Ileana
Warnings: Sex, and Spoilers for Loups Garoux (Big Finish).

Recced because: A touching, sensual exploration of one of my favourite one-off characters in the Who canon. Ten is gloriously, awfully him, in all his brashness. Ileana has that desperate insecurity and strength shown in the audio. Truely wonderful.

So sorry! I've had various internet problems, and so I have somewhat failed as a reccer.

Title: Wrong Turn on the Way to Albuquerque
Author: nonelvis
Rating: Teen
Word count: 905
Author's summary: The other time the Doctor made an unusual entrance. (Minor spoilers for "Vampires in Venice.")
Characters/Pairings: Amy and the Doctor, some OCs. Amy/Rory
Warnings: None

Recced because: It a hilarious fic, inspired by the Doctor's 'again' in Vampire in Venice. The gaudy reality of hen nights is portrayed beautifully, and the characterisations are amazing.

Hi! I'm your reccer for this week. Sorry I was busy yesterday. I'll try to get some newer stuff out, so it may be mostly eleven fic.

Saying that her is a five/ten fic for you, that's quite old but really good.

Title: A Hull of a Time
Author: Bad_Dickens
Rating: All ages
Word count: 1290
Author's summary: The Fifth Doctor, Tegan, and Turlough in Hull in the 1920s. Wonder who they'll meet?
Characters/Pairings: Tegan Jovanka, The Doctor (5th), The TARDIS, Turlough, Kathy NightingaleWarnings: None

Recced because: The unfinished story of Blink is Kathy's marriage, and her simultaneously uplifting and depressing fate is explored in this fic. Added to this is a nice character student of the fifth Doctor, Tegan and Turlough. A lovely, bitter sweet snapshot.. And the ending is fantastic.

Hello, I am CakeorDeath44, you're friendly neighbourhood reccyer for the week. Hope you enjoy the stories I recommend.

Story:
Hey Now Hey Now
Author:
Cryptile
Rating: All Ages
Word Count: 7243
Author's Summary: Rose Tyler learns about universal constants.
Characters/Pairings: Rose Tyler, The Doctor (10th), The TARDIS
Warnings: Swearing, very mild.

Recced because:

"And for all things then lost, and the cold hearth, and her riven heart, she drowns the world in her tears."

Because it contains this line?

All right, perhaps you want something more. One of the surprising things about Doctor Who is that, for a show that is so brash and loud and big and camp (in a good way) most of the time on the television, it lends itself spectacularly well to introspective, poetic, lyrical and intelligent pieces of writing. This story shows the relationship between Rose and the Doctor, and Rose’s character herself with subtlety, beautiful language and lovely vignettes. Using as a muse a Crowded House song. If that isn’t talent, I don’t know what is.

Last Recce! I hope you've enjoyed some of my recommendations despite the technical hitches.

Story: Twentyish Lies Told To Rose Tyler
Author: nostalgia
Rating: All Ages
Word Count:
548
Author's Summary: "Please select from the following options."
Characters/Pairings: Tenth Doctor
Warnings: None

Recced because:
I've posted some rather series stories and I want to end it with some fun crack!fic.

The fic is (as the titles says) twentish lies that the Doctor told Rose, each of which is hilarious and will brighten up your day. It is difficult to pick a favourite but I love number ten: 10. By an unusual quirk of time travel, I am both of my own parents.

Please leave feedback if you read.

Story: Between Moments
Author: banburytale
Rating:
Word Count:
Author's Summary:
Characters/Pairings: Spoilers for series four up until Midnight
Warnings: All Ages

Recced because: This is another Midnight inspired fic but it tells the story of the Doctor's and Donna's relationship. Donna is my favourite companion and I really love the take the writer has taken on this. She writes their relationship so beautifully but also realistically.

In light of the finale of series four it is heartbreaking and it made me cry.

Remember to review if you read it.

Story: Ask Before You Snap At Me
Author: ThetaSigma
Rating: All Ages
Word Count: 206
Author's Summary: Next time, he'll ask.
Characters/Pairings: The Doctor (10th) and The TARDIS
Warnings: Tiny spoilers for Forest of the Dead.

Recced because: The TARDIS is really not represented enough in fics. She is such a wonderful character who is woefully mistreated by the Doctor but often overlooked. This fic shows the TARDIS as a rather irritated machine after the Doctor thinks it's OK to snap his fingers at her.

It is funny and very sweet. Please review the story if you read it.

Sorry for my hopelessness at posting!

Story: Humans
Author: rosa_acicularis
Rating: All ages
Word Count: 1706
Author's Summary: Six people, six stories, six seconds. Six voices, and the evil that men do. A post episode fic for Midnight.
Characters/Pairings: Other Characters
Warnings: Spoilers for Midnight

Recced because: This fits the tone of the episode of Midnight perfectly: Dark, introspective and very, very human. Six of the characters are given their own little story and they fit perfectly. I would but unfair to pick a favourite because they are all so amazing but the Hostess is phenomenal. It is a superb piece of work.

Story: Ghost in the Machine
Author: Rain
Rating: All ages
Word Count:
13484
Author's Summary: Rose is lost in time. Cue a rollercoaster ride of comedy, tragedy, misunderstandings, miracles and faces from the past.
Characters/Pairings:
Rose Tyler, Jack Harkness, Jamie McCrimmon, Nyssa, Tegan Jovanka, The Doctor (4th), The Doctor (5th), The Doctor (7th), The Doctor (8th), The Doctor (9th), The Doctor (Author-Created)
Warnings: None

Recced because: If you leave aside the slightly tricky continuity aspect of Nine!Rose meeting the tenth Doctor this fic is perfection. The characterisation of the many characters is excellent and Rose is done especially well. There is a great twist at the end the pace is really quick so (unlike a lot of longer fics) it never drags.

I fell in love with this fic and I hope you will to.

Story: Tanas
Author: Elanor

Rating: Adult
Word Count:
45770
Author's Summary: The Doctor, Adric, Tegan and Nyssa arrive in Regency England and are rescued from a mysterious bone-chilling mist by Tanas, the local land owner.
Characters/Pairings:
Adric, Nyssa, Tegan Jovanka, The Doctor (5th
Warnings: Explicit
violence, sexual situations, dark themes.

Recced because: This fic used to be under a different name and was abandoned by the author. I loved it so much that I begged asked her to finish it.

The characterisation is near perfect and Adric is painted especially well. There is a brilliant air of mystery created and you genuinely can't wait for the next chapter. It is very dark and it is not for the faint hearted however it is not smut for smuts sake (not that there is anything necessarily wrong with that). It is a really good, long, plotty tale to get your teeth into.

First recce! Sorry it is a bit late.

Story:
Companion Auditions
Author: Minion
Rating: Child
Word Count: 1,691
Author's Summary: The Tenth Doctor, currently travelling alone (for an unspecified reason; no spoilers), advertises for a new companion, but finds the quest more difficult than he had anticipated.
Characters/Pairings: Tenth Doctor, Lots of OCs
Warnings: None

Recced because: It is really, really cute. The idea that the Doctor would audition for a companion is not entirely original but the author carries it off so well you don't care. Ten is wriiten very well and is at his most adorable. It is very funny and all the OCs are written very well.
