Recced because: Are you aware just how few stories there are featuring Ben Jackson? Way too few, that's the answer, and this is a particularly hilarious example of the few that there are. Presented as "an educational feature on the concepts of love and romance," it chronicles one of Ben's ill-fated attempts to pick up some bird. There are some brilliantly funny lines, and everyone is spot-on in character, particuarly Ben.

Recced because: I have a soft spot for Six. I have an exceptionally soft spot for Six with Evelyn (or Six/Evelyn, should you choose to read it that way). This story gives us the more affectionate side of Six, the side we almost never get to see, while still keeping him perfectly in character (his frustration and anxiety in particular ring true). There's some lovely writing here, and a poignant ending.

Recced because: It's so rare to find good characterisation for Charley, so I was delighted to stumble across this little gem. It charts Charley's slow tranformation into a citizen of the 21st century, and it's beautifully done, with just the right amount of bittersweet.

Besides, every kid has to catch his parent in flagrente delicto at some point. Luke being Luke...
