Recced because: One of the best things about Halloween is ladies with a rock-solid excuse to be sexy as hell. One of the worst things about Halloween is ladies sacrificing their personal integrity to conform to arbitrary standards of beauty for the conditional approval of a heteronormative male-dominated society. Poetry's Mad Girl's Love song is all about the former and gives a big, joyous brush-off to the latter: she writes a female Ninth Doctor who's gorgeous and strong and hurting and healing, and a Rose who finds out that love can be lots of different things, and a Jack who is every bit as flexible as a 51st century guy should be. To top it all off, Poetry even gives the Doctor a genderswap within the genderswap fic, and writes her regenerating into a male Ten. It's a funny and silly and thoughtful romp through a Rule 63'd Season One, and it's worth every minute you spend reading it.
