Author's Summary: Liz found that she wanted to give River a chance that she didn’t necessarily deserve. It was unusual and irrational, but she’d felt the same way when she’d met the Doctor for the first time.

Recced because: I was saddened to hear of the death of Caroline John (Liz Shaw) last week, and wanted to include at least one story starring her. This one is a beauty, in which she encounters a mysterious stranger named River Song and together they fight aliens and snark at the Doctor's less desirable qualities, before going off to do science (archaeology) together.
