Location: Wardrobe room, inside TARDIS
Characters/Pairings: Sixth Doctor, Peri

Recced because: Sheer. Ridiculous. Fun. It's always interesting to think of the Doctor doing mundane things, like having a livejournal account. I particularly like little slice of life stories, no monsters, no... real mayhem, just travelling with the Doctor and all the hilarity that ensues. The writer has a really good Six voice, too; you really hear it.

Author's Summary: "Why is it only ever the bad guys who have a proper plan?" The Master's son finally meets the Daleks. And he thought it a good day. (Hugely AU rewrite of TSE/JE with Eleven and Clara and a host of extras.
Characters/Pairings: Eleventh Doctor, The Master (original), River, Jack, Clara, Davros, Daleks, OCs
Warnings: Death, strong language, violence

Recced because: Elisi's work is always an utter gem to read, especially when she delves into the world of AUs. I also have an ulterior motive for reccing this one, because I've been along for the ride all year since she started it. 'A Good Day' is a brilliant AU version of Journey's End, starring Eleven, River, the Master, Clara, Jack and a small host of OCs. It is an emotional roller coaster from start to finish and takes a wildly different approach to the missing Earth than the original story.

Story: Wind in the Meadow
Author: ClocketPatch
Rating: Adult
Word Count: 3,192
Author's Summary: A rather dark story in which Ace is slowly taken over by the Cheetah virus from Survival.
Characters/Pairings: Seven, Ace
Warnings: Dub!con, allusions to self harm

Recced because: This... isn't the kind of thing I usually rec, I'll admit. It is dark, and sad, and terrifying, and I swear the first time I read it - even though Seven isn't a Doctor I know well - I stopped breathing and sat on the edge of my teeth. I can't speak for characterisation, but they are consistent, and the edgy, uncanny valley effect in the character's thoughts really throws you off guard. It's a great story for this run up to Halloween, but by no stretch of the word a happy one.
