Well, it’s been fun, although coming down to one last rec today was hard work (can’t I have four?).
Story: Royal oak
Author: HADouglas
Rating: All ages
Word Count: 17, 152
Author's Summary: The Doctor arrives in Orkney and discovers plundering on a sunken War Grave... but why?
Characters/Pairings: Tenth Doctor
Warnings: None.
Recced because: This is simply a good Doctor Who story and, sometimes that feels like a surprisingly rare thing in fan fiction. It’s set in a specific time and place, giving it the feel of an historical, even though it isn’t. And even aside from the adventure and the strong portrayal of the time and place (and some nice original characters), there’s Ten himself, at his best here – and giving his thoughts on cows (and who doesn't want to hear that?).
