*waves* Hello, everyone! I'm sahiya and I'll your reccer this week. I'll probably rec primarily New Who, where my favorite pairings are Jack/Doctor/Rose and Jack/Doctor. But I'm going to try and rec some Classic Who as well.

Today we have one of my very favorite stories ever.

Story: The Lovers

Author's Summary: Rose wants to see something really different. Jack wants the Doctor to quit shying away from him. Nobody wants what they actually get, or it wouldn't be Doctor Who.
Characters/Pairings: Nine/Jack/Rose
Warnings: Dark and slightly gruesome in parts.

Recced because: This fic fits into canaana's Major Arcana series, which goes AU as of "Parting of the Ways." But I think this story stands on its own pretty well, and is my favorite of the series for the way it deals with Jack's immortality. It's grim and difficult in parts, but the payoff is worth it, and canaana's characterization of Jack is, as always, stellar.

Seconding this rec! It's a difficult story in parts, but you'll be sooo glad you read it by the end. It's just beautiful. All the characters are so strong. While the fic really concentrates on the Nine/Jack relationship (for a good reason), Rose is very much present and active. There are also some great OCs. Basically, it's canaana's usual brilliant work.

I ditto that rec--and pretty much everything by Canaana. Special highlights include "Moebius," "To Please," "This Too Is Love" and "Unconditional."
