Heh, it was a bit of a stealth crossover with the webcomic xkcd, which is a nerd staple. Honestly, folks where I work have taken some of the comics he's developed and implemented them as network analytic solutions. But the ones I was cribbing from were particularly the ones involving Black Fedora guy and these two: http://xkcd.com/325/ and http://xkcd.com/231/

There was also one where he was outlining the basics of some kind of ridiculous Voice Over (something) protocol, but I can't for the life of me find it again. ETA: ha, it's this one: http://xkcd.com/190/
