And already it is my last rec! I really enjoyed doing this, thank you all for having me.
Story: Measuring Up
author: Moonmonkey
word count: 1701
author's summary: The writing is on the wall but, once again, it seems the Doctor is failing to grasp some fairly basic facts. Follow up to "True Colours". Now with new Rose & Ten scene added.
characters/pairings: Eight Doctor, Charley Pollard, Tenth Doctor, Rose Tyler
warnings: none
recced because: Although I like all Doctors, Eight is my favourite, and since there is a serious lack of good fluffy Eight and Charley fic, I’d like to finish the week by offering you this.
I don’t think there is a Doctor who works quite as well with fluff as Eight. Sometimes it seems like he’s made of the stuff. This story certainly brings out everything I love about Eight; his obliviousness to perfectly obvious things, his feigned innocence and his ability, seemingly more so than any other Doctor, to end up in extremely silly situations and still be perfectly himself. His dialogue here with Charley is great, funny and above all: fluffy. You know a story is good when you can hear the voices of the characters in your head, and that is the case here. If that hasn’t convinced you yet, then there is also a short second chapter with Ten and Rose which is just as great, funny and fluffy.
It says in the author’s summary that it is a follow up to another story, but you don’t need to have read that one in order to understand this one. (Although if you want more Eight and Charley fluff, definitely go and check it out).
