Hello Craig
calufrax, I'm back! And I come bearing fun recs for this first week of April.
Title: The Checkup
Author: whatthefoucault
Rating: All ages
Word Count: 511
Author's Summary: That time Jamie takes a wee visit to the hospital after a little dust-up with some Cybermen.
Characters/Pairings: Ten, Mild Two/Jamie
Warnings: None
Recc'ed Because: It's a sweet little outtake of what could have happened set during both "Blink" and "The Invasion." Jamie's voice is very well done and it is nice to see a gentler side of the adventures and peril that they face on a daily basis. Given what we know of the future, the fleeting encounter here is poignant and bittersweet, like reliving an old memory.
---------
Jamie McCrimmon was certain that such a lengthy hospital visit was unnecessary. He had, after all, sustained only a rather insignificant flesh wound in his altercation with the cybermen. A lesser man might have needed special attention, but the McCrimmons were made of stronger stuff. Still, the hospital served strong tea and nearly edible biscuits, and the staff were kind, if a little condescending.
