Author's Summary: The breach between universes is permanently closed. After a horrific accident, Rose Tyler decides to re-create herself. Broadchurch is as good a place as any to start afresh. Crossover with Broadchurch.

Warnings: Explicit sex, and a canon character death early on.

Recced because: Since the first series of the show has finished, there have been a lot more Doctor Who/Broadchurch crossover fics popping up. Closed is one of the first, and IMHO, one of the best as well. It's not a reunion fic though, and the 10th Doctor only ever appears in Rose's dreams and memories. Rather, she finds solace in a world where she and the Doctor never reunite in a man who shares his face: DI Alec Hardy. It's a really well done story, and you'll be rooting for Rose and Alec the whole time, so you won't get a chance to be disappointed that there is no actual 10 in it. Plus, we get lots of Jake Simmonds, who is an awesome and underused character. I read this fic as it was being updated, and was on tenterhooks waiting for her to update chapters. You're lucky enough to get it all in one shot! Enjoy. :)

Another excellent rec and I'm not saying that just because I was a beta. It's truly an outstanding emotional and dramatic story. It's one of the better AUs I have read and she did a remarkable job blending DW and BC characters.

She's a really excellent writer-I almost couldn't believe it when I searched the tags and found that she had NEVER been recced here. It seemed impossible. Again, it was hard to choose which of her fics I wanted to recc, but I figured there's a broader appeal with this sort of a crossover.

I am seriously desperate to read this broadchurchxDW fic, but unfortunately the author took it down. I'm hunting around to see if anyone has a copy saved. Do you? I need this so much in my life right now. Please help!

I'm sorry, I don't have a copy. She deleted everything rather suddenly, I never thought to download it from AO3 until after the fact. I've seen bits and pieces of it floating around tumblr, that would probably be your best bet to try and track it down that way.
