Recced because: It's time to break out the Christmas recs! And what a great story to start with. Tegan and the First Doctor bond over Christmas shopping, and it's festive in the very best of ways: by having as its focus two characters who are thrown together and end up having a huge amount of fun. At Christmas. With costumes and mince pies and department stores. I read this with a smile on my face the whole way through, because Tegan and the First Doctor just work so well together that I can absolutely see this happening. Go forth and read!
The Doctor chuckled to himself. “I’m afraid I seem to have been partly responsible for the Great Fire of Rome.”
“You -.” Tegan had to bite her lip, but she couldn’t keep from laughing helplessly. “Well, you’re a happy little arsonist, aren’t you?”
“I beg your pardon?”
She choked back her amusement. “Look, I won’t tell you how or when, but, you’re responsible for the Great Fire of London as well.”
