Recced because: There are three things about this fic that I absolutely love: it has femmeslash (my favorite genre after gen), it's an alternate universe (another favorite genre of mine), and it has Romana, Rose and Martha working together sans Doctor and kicking arse perfectly well without him. One of the things I love in Doctor Who fanfic is Companions Are Doing It For Themselves and this is a damn good example of the trope. (Not to mention that Netgirl_y2k is an awesomely fun and funny writer and it was really difficult for me to choose just one fic of hers to rec, because they're all good. I ended up picking this one because Calufrax really does deserve more femmeslash recs.)

Anyhow, I just really like this fic. A lot. Enough that I think everyone should read it. It has me willing to overlook the random typo and it's not every fic that can do that.

["W]e've been to three inhabited planets already and I've only been here a week and a half. Shouldn't that take like hundreds of years? Shouldn't we have to go into suspended animation or something?"

Romana gave a long suffering roll of her eyes.

"Rose, tell Martha how the ship got to be so fast, please?"

"Because Romana is very, very clever. Much cleverer than the people who originally designed this ship," said Rose in the dull tones of someone repeating something they'd heard more times than they cared to recall.

"Thank you, Rose," Romana said merrily.

OMG, I can't believe you stole my rec! I thought I was the only person in the world who adored this fic! I'm torn between grr and glee right now.

Seriously, this fic makes me do funny little dances, I love it so. It features one of my favourite Romana IIIs EVER AND FEMSLASH. :D
