Recced because: Another great fic arising from continuity niggles - this one being the obvious question of where exactly was Torchwood in the 70s when the Doctor was working for UNIT and fighting off aliens on a weekly basis while patently not being arrested? The result is a satisfyingly twisty, Spooks-style spy story that explains why. And has the Brigadier and UNIT getting the better of Torchwood's sinister men in grey. Read it and cheer.

I love JJPOR's stuff, but this story in particular fills me with excessive glee. Plus, seeing the Brigadier be awesome never, ever gets old.

I can't say how heartily I concur with this rec - this is one of those rare stories that I've gone around *insisting* that my family read it too. Excellent, the Brig at his best.
