Story: Into Warsaw
Author: Etherati
Rating: All Ages
Author's Summary: The Doctor has said goodbye many, many times, and the message rarely changes, no matter it’s a person or a universe.
Characters/Pairings: Implied Eighth Doctor/Romana II
Warnings: None

Recced because: It chronicles the final days of the Time War, and the final time two good friends will ever see one another, without descending into melodrama; it captures the special, elusive nature of the Doctor and Romana's relationship, without turning sappy; and it lets the Doctor deliver a goodbye message to Gallifrey that is both chilling and perfect. Or, in the words of that old Frankie Goes to Hollywood song, "Mine is the last voice you will ever hear. Do not be alarmed."

Story: Patterns in the Patchwork
Author: Kay Seda
Rating: All ages
Author's summary: Other worlds, other times, myriads of other book shops, music shops, duty-frees, jumble sales, treasuries, dungeons, corridors, rock-strewn wastelands, space stations...
Characters/Pairings: Eight/Fitz
Warnings: None

Recced because:
Because this manages the fairly difficult task of reconciling the end of the books with the beginning of the new series (meaning that Gallifrey has to get undestroyed in time for Eight to destroy it again) and it does it without falling headlong into fanwank; because it packs all these hints of other stories into less than 5000 words, with the summary alone containing about a season's worth of missing adventures; and because while I have many, many ships these two are my OTP and when their 'epic bromance' is done as right as it is here it's my favourite thing in this fandom.

Story: Dreaming In Metaphors
Author: Yahtzee
Rating: Teen
Author's Summary: The Master's Paradox Machine proves to have been a bad influence on the TARDIS, and the Doctor is certain that Martha is the only one who can help him set his ship to rights.
Characters/Pairings: Tenth Doctor/Martha Jones
Warnings: None

Recced because: Because it completely caught me by surprise, that's why. Martha goes back to the Doctor and it starts a little too mushy for my liking but, well, you'll see if you read (which you totally should, yes), the ending is excellent. The pace and dialogue is just perfect and the settings that the Doctor and Martha find themselves in are brilliant.
