Story: Southend, July 26th, 1976
Author: Kate
Author's Summary: "He first saw the Doctor when he was 12."
Characters/Pairings: Ninth Doctor, Clive
Warnings: None

Recced because: This was one of the first stories I came across on Teaspoon a few years ago, back when I was a lurker on the site. Watching 'Rose' as a newcomer to Who, I loved the character of Clive who was obsessed with the Doctor and knew all about him. This lovely little story tells us just how Clive came to be so obsessed. For me, it takes me back to that excitement I felt when 'Rose' first aired. Also has a nice little bit of 'timey-wimey' stuff. Sort of.

Story: All This Season of Snow and Sins
Author: Cherry Ice
Rating: All Ages
Author's Summary: Romana, after the Time War. Jack, at the Time Agency. You can't fight a war, because the war always wins.
Characters/Pairings: Jack/Romana II
Warnings: None

Recced because: I've never been a big fan of Captain Jack, but I'm a big fan of Cherry Ice's Captain Jack: He's a fully realized character, not just a walking collection of one-liners, and his darker aspects seem both plausible and earned. This story of Jack's pre-"Empty Child" encounter with a mysterious, traumatized Jane Doe makes the Time Agency feel like a real (amusingly, sometimes creepily anachronistic) place, gives the Time War actual fallout and consequences and has a Romana who feels like her idiosyncratic, incisive self even when she's not all there. Their gradual attraction to each other is both humorous and melancholy, and also feels earned. A very fine portrayal of a pairing I'd never considered before I read this.

Story: Man-Whores and Wealthy Women
Author: HonorH
Rating: All Ages (there's talk about sex but no onscreen action)
Author's summary: The Doctor and Jack have gotten themselves in a sticky situation and are about to be auctioned off as concubines on the planet Trioditis. What will Rose have to do in order to free her men?
Characters/Pairings: Ninth Doctor, Rose, Jack
Warnings: None

Recced because:
I love TARDIS teams with more than one companion. Partly this is because I have a huge weakness for comedic stories where all but one of the crew haplessly land themselves in hot water, whereupon the one who's been smart enough not to get him or herself dragged off to the nearest dungeon rolls their eyes and sets out to rescue their comrades. I especially love it when the Doctor's one of the ones being rescued, so this story hits an awful lot of my buttons by having Rose hatch a brilliant plan to spring the Doctor and Jack from a concubine auction by posing as a spoiled socialite (complete with a little alien dog). The dialogue for all three is spot-on, and the Doctor and Jack's attempts at sexual one-upmanship are hilarious.
