Recced because: Short but powerful, this fic takes a line from The Stolen Earth and follows its implications it to a conclusion that feels both natural and disturbing. In the author's note, Dune says she isn't sure if it's an AU to New Who or if it's set sometime after S4. In truth, the very ambiguity only adds to the story's strength. I feel like I'm damning with faint praise, but it's a very good, very thought-provoking fic and one I think everyone ought to read.

Recced because: Despite its brevity, this story will stick with you long after you've read it. I read it first right after Journey's End, and the parallels to Donna's ending made me get pretty disgustingly emotional. Jamie's voice is wonderful (and isn't clogged up with unnecessary accenting) and the brief story flows beautifully. I really like this story.
