Recced because: It's just a brilliantly fun romp. In an alternate universe somewhere, Peri Brown isn't romantically saved from drowning by Vislor Turlough—she's romantically saved by the Rani, instead. All for the cause of science, of course.

Netgirl combines the Rani's wryness with Peri's naïve abrasiveness to get great chemistry, and then proceeds to give a series of swift peeks at a magnificent show we never got but that I'd watch in a heartbeat. And there are, most importantly, giant bees.

“I don't know what you're complaining about,” said the Rani, who was the only person in the conversation not covered in slime. “You say you want to go back to Earth, so I take you there-”

“Seven hundred years before I was born!” Peri interrupted.

“You say you want to go to the botanic gardens and-”

“You tried to feed me to a mutant Venus Flytrap!”

“Yes, well, I changed my mind at the last minute.”
