Hi! I'm [livejournal.com profile] curuchamion , your reccer for this week. (Both of which points should be fairly obvious... *g*)

Anyway. I've got a fair jumble of fics for y'all this holiday week - Classic and New Who, and combinations thereof; no Torchwood, SJA, books or audios, though - so I thought I'd start off with something a bit unusual.

Story:
Doctor Who?
Author:
Arthur Dent
Rating:
All Ages
Word Count: 1070
Author's Summary:
“The Fate of the Doctor and Rose after 'Journey's End'.”
Characters/Pairings:
Other!Ten, Rose Tyler, other characters
Warnings:
Rose dies, eventually.

Recced because: Yes, it's a Handy/Rose post-JE fic. That's not, exactly, why I'm reccing it.

This is one of the most awesome, most hilariously convincing pieces of timey-wimey continuity repair ever written. It's good even if you're not familiar with the continuity being repaired - it gives Rose and "Handy" a lovely, convincing life together (with a son named Michael Alistair, yet) - but it's the twist at the end that knocks this fic into the realm of classics.

(Ouch. I just made a really bad pun. You'll see.)

Anyway. This is one of those rare fics that I think everybody in the fandom, whatever their interests, should probably read at least once. If you find yourself a bit puzzled at the end, the necessary information to un-puzzle you can be found here on Wikipedia - but read the story first. Seriously.

Dude, that's awesome. (And I'm so happy it exists, because I've been wanting a fic in which Handy was the Cushing!Doctor to exist since forever, but I've never bothered to actually try writing it and now I don't have to! Yay.)
