Recced because: Any author who manages to take a somewhat cracky premise, carry it through and create a fic that is both funny and enjoyable has written a good fic. Any author who manages to do all that, and somehow keep everyone completely in character throughout, has written a great fic. And that's what this is: a great fic that is both very funny and weirdly plausible. In a missing scene from "City of Death," Romana and Duggan "do it," but it's the conversation that follows their brief liaison that is absolutely priceless.
“Yeah…” Duggan took a moment to catch his breath, leaning against the edge of the table. “Oh, God…” After a while, he managed to think of something appropriate to say: “Oh my…that was great…you were…”
“It was all right, I suppose…” Romana finished rearranging her unmentionables and smoothed down her skirt before returning to the matter at hand: “Now,” she said, sitting down at the table and producing a pencil from the pocket of her school blazer: “Count Scarlioni’s mansion; what security systems do you estimate he has in place?”
