Recced because: Picture this: Rose and the Duplicate Doctor are living in the nice universe. The one with all the friendly aliens. The one where no-one tries to blow anyone up, and when an alien race wants to challenge the Earth for rights to the Solar System they challenge the President to... a cricket match. Oh, and let’s not forget the disparaging aside to Hershey’s chocolate (yes, it really does taste waxy!)
And there are gay Daleks. No, really. This fic is inspired. Sheer brilliance!
Even if you're not normally a fan of Doctor/Rose, give this story a try. I guarantee it's worth it. Have an excerpt to prove it!
Wednesday, pink and purple Daleks roll into the hub. The Doctor freaks out the moment he spots one and chokes on his sandwich.
"No, it's okay," Rose says, pounding his back. "These are the Gaylecks."
"The Gaelics?"
"No, I mean, they're gay. Don't ask me how it works, what with the tin-can-full-of-squiddy-bits thing they've got going on, but they just sort of show up every once in a while to hand out sex-positive literature and sneer at our decorating."
