It's almost time for the S6 premiere! Here's the perfect fic to read while you're counting down the hours:
Story: Make Believe
Author: musedepandora
Rating: All Ages
Word Count: 3269
Author's Summary: It didn't end in The Library. For either of them. (Eleven/River, Amy. Spoilers through Pandorica)
Characters/Pairings: Eleventh Doctor/River Song, Amy Pond
Warnings: None
Recced because: It's a simple but brilliant premise: the Doctor sometimes takes the TARDIS back to orbit The Library so he can have conversations with the River he left there in the computer. The fic is a truly fascinating character study of the Doctor and River, and their very complex relationship with each other. River's status as a dead hologram is not shied away from, nor is the Doctor's fundamental discomfort around her -- and yet it completely works. The characterization is amazing, and the execution is perfect.
"Stabilizers!" he announces and gallops around the console to the blue switches. He pulls out his sonic screwdriver. She notes that it's not the version he gave her or will give her. She wonders when he'll add the red settings. When he does, that will be admitting defeat.
