Recced because: There aren't many Evelyn stories and this is a particularly lovely one. The relationship between the Sixth Doctor and Evelyn is just right - exactly as it is in the audios. Evelyn and Barbara are two companions who should definitely meet, given their shared interest in history. It's fun to see the Sixth Doctor, Evelyn, Ian and Barbara all interact.

The Doctor didn’t want to stay in 1972 for various reasons. According to him, he was already here, and he didn’t want to risk running into himself. He also pointed out that Evelyn was there too, and having her bump into herself would be catastrophic.

She managed to persuade him to stay for at least a few hours on the simple fact that she spent most of 1972 out of the country. “Besides, if you’ve already been here, then you know what places we should avoid.”

He relented. “All right. But only for a few hours. I’d like to avoid the late twentieth century as much as possible. There’s plenty happening already without this version of me sitting here enjoying a sunny afternoon. The potential for paradoxes is problematic.”

“As is the abundance of alliterations,” Evelyn commented.
