Merry Christmas to those who celebrate it, happy sixth night of Hanukkah to those who celebrate it, and happy Doctor Who Christmas Special Day to us all! As my last rec, I bring you some holiday fluff:

Recced because: I'll be honest with you. I'm generally not a fan of "characters celebrate Christmas" fic, but this is such a perfect piece of sweet, non-sappy, in-character Doctor/Romana fluff, it completely won me over. If you love Christmas fic, you're bound to love this; and if you don't, try it anyway, because it just might win you over, too.



“Romana, are you responsible for leaving these trees in here?”

She sighed and stepped down from the stepladder before fishing out a bright red hat, with fluffy white trimming, from somewhere in her dress and putting it on the Doctor’s head. She stepped back and admired her handiwork. “Much better.”

“You’ve put a hat on my head,” said the Doctor.

No, really, I am here to say how much I enjoyed your recs posts last week. I wasn't posting/commenting much for obvious reasons, but in the middle of all the LJ stuff, a positive post was a bonus! Some I read - some were spoilery! (I am so so behind with DW. I hope I can manage to catch up before the autumn.) But, nice recs! I wanted to read the ones I couldn't!

But actually, I wasn't even planning on reccing a Christmas-themed fic until you went and recced a whole bunch on your LJ, and good ones at that! If you'd recced trash, I wouldn't have stolen one of them. So really, it's your own fault for having good taste. :D

Really glad that you enjoyed my other recs -- but again, that's probably because you have good taste. *g* (Okay, similar taste to my taste.) Sorry about the spoilery ones, but hopefully you'll get the chance to read them in the not-too-distant future! Nostalgia's crack!fic is very spoilery -- that's why I made sure to warn for spoilers in my rec -- but if you really don't want to wait, "Hey, Macarena!" is only slightly spoilery. Or else you could jump ahead and watch "The Girl Who Waited" now since it's a stand-alone episode (and also very good).

Thanks. I'm kind of thinking that by my birthday I should be okay for DW & can hopefully get it then & I'll be in plenty of time for the autumn. But we'll see - for the moment the pace & music tires me, so it's sensible to wait a bit longer. I could probably watch it okay now, but I doubt I'd enjoy it - and that would be terrible!! :-)

(Also, I'm sure you know, but I was only joking about the rec-stealing. It's a nice thing!!)
