Story: A Gallifreyan at Blandings
Author: vvj5 (

Rating: All Ages
Word Count: 9755
Author's Summary: Lord Emsworth's new secretary, John Smith, is the barmiest yet. He claims to be chasing aliens, digs up the garden and proposes to girls he doesn't want to marry. Even worse, the fellow's unsound on the subject of pigs. (PG Wodehouse 'Blandings' crossover)
Characters/Pairings: Tenth Doctor, crossover characters
Warnings: None

...okay, I fail at writing early-20th-century British piffle in the grand style, but vvj5 is excellent at it. Her Wodehouse pastiche voice is second to none, and her plot pacing in this story is superb - like Wodehouse himself, she handily pulls together several unrelated plot threads into a hilarious climactic collision that then neatly sorts itself out by its own momentum and turns out better than it had any right to do. XD
I'm not doing this very well, am I? Basically, it is AWESOME and hilarious and has comically overcomplicated plottery and cross-purposes and rubber-suit-aliens and a ladder. Especially the ladder. ;-)
Also, you absolutely do not need to know the crossover fandom to enjoy this story. As long as you have any sort of acquaintance with British comedy tropes - such as you might gain from, er, being a Doctor Who fan ;-) - you'll be fine. Have fun!
