Story: Make the Man
Author: Cryptile
Rating: All Ages
Word Count: 1768
Author's Summary: Ode to a black leather jacket.
Characters/Pairings: Ten, Rose (but Rose isn't really in it much)
Warnings: None
Recced because: The "new Doctor picks his outfit" scene is a hallowed Doctor Who ritual. Here Cryptile explores Ten's change of clothes and how it signaled inward changes as well, contrasting Nine's forbidding, no-frills ensemble with the almost aggressive quaintness of the classic series incarnations, and offering a possible reason why Ten in turn dressed the way *he* did.
What's really amazing is that this story was posted nearly a month before New Earth first aired, when Ten was still shiny and new and his surface had yet to be scratched.
Oh, and the last line especially is a killer.
